Abstract
Continue or discontinue scope between the previous & the current architecture and their relation to the future requires orientation to know their references related to many beliefs considering it Cultural & historical values give to architecture local identity. It also defines the degree of relationship between the human, society and its connection to the place. The beliefs are appeared by creating architecture link to cultural heritage and it is expressed by using the technology of the era. This research introduced many architectural studies to determine the research problem, which was "Lack of knowledge about the belief effect on architecture production in deferent periods, and its role to inquiry continuity & discontinuity between the past and present". The study goals are to clarify the impact of belief on the Iraqi architectural production at different periods, extending from the emergence of Iraqi architecture to the present, and to affect the differing belief at formulation structure on the level of the exterior of the building: By dividing the effect of belief into four positions. "The prevalence of religious beliefs – Multiple beliefs – Lack of beliefs – emergence new beliefs". Each position differed in its treatment according to the time limit with adopting models designed in one of position or with two together to indicate the impact of different belief in them. This research reached many conclusions and recommendations for achieving the research objective.
