Abstract

Additions in architecture are regarded an important phenomenon which was handled in new perspective in the literature of post-modem architecture and it's practices as they represent responses to modemism like problems of the destruction of the urban environmentand the negligence of the traditional context in the city. After discussing the state of art of the subject concerning additions in the trends ofpostmodemism period , addition to buildings phenomenon emerged as it is regarded an important aspect of architecture which rvere invested to determine the problem of the research. This is due to their close relationship with products of the architectural trends across history giving different application formula and diversity on one hand, and their relation to problems concerned with how the additions are performed and the nature of the formula used by the designer in the construclion of his work on the other hand.
